Matthew Maciosek is pursuing a B.S in Biological Systems Engineering as well as a minor in GIS at the University of California, Davis. He is interested in improving agricultural practices to mitigate their negative environmental effects. He has previously used GIS to suggest suitable areas in Bhutan, where resources are ideal for high yield and consumption would have minimal impact, for agricultural expansion. He is currently collecting data across the Central Valley for irrigation modeling and soil analysis.
